By design, the Rallye in the Park is a family friendly day. All details of the Rallye in the Park are designed to be “safe” for parents to bring their children to. The Rallye in the Park will include our first annual Rallye66 Benefit 5K, a service at 10am in the Park, The Rallye66 Benefit Car Show, Free Inflatables for kids (both young and old), free lunch, give aways and more. There is surely something for every one.
The Rallye66 Benefit 5K will begin at 8am and run south on Main St., East on College, north on Grand to the historic Carthage Square and then back south again onto Main St. Basically we are making a big rectangle that starts roughly in the same place it begins. Seems strange we would choose to run 3.1 miles and not have gotten anywhere, LOL. The Rallye 66 Benefit 5K is a chip timed event and packet pick up will be Saturday before the run.
One of the coolest features of the show is the service in the park. We know that many drive in from other places and may miss being able to worship since our show is on Sunday. In light of that, at 10:00am, we will have a service in Central Park. This service will mimic in design our 9:15 service with powerfully practical messages from David Cook, energetic worship and communion offered each week. But also, just in case you forgot to drink coffee, if that’s possible, we’ll have that there too. In 2015, we are very excited to welcome Peterson Outdoors Ministries to the service.
This year Curtis King will open God’s Word and share what God has done in his life since participating in a hunt with Peterson Outdoors Ministries. Curtis is a veteran of our most recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and currently a student at Ozark Christian College.
Following the 10am service, at roughly 11:30-noon, we will begin serving lunch. The lunch is free to all who attend the Rallye in the Park. You do not need to participate in the Rallye66 Benefit Car Show & 5K to enjoy lunch.
At 11:30 registration will open for the Rallye66 Benefit Car Show. Information about the car show can be found on this site. As in previous years this will be a judged show and as a way of recognizing and honoring our local first responders we have invited them to be our judges. Our goal is to begin judging the show at 1pm and present our awards by 3pm.
